Welcome ! !
Hello in Camp!!
On June 20 & 21st, 2008, Front Range Rendezvous 2008 (FRRØ8) was most likely THE BEST Demonstration of American History ever held in the Denver, Colorado area. We had waaaayyyyy tooo much fun!!! Cannons in Camp made thundering blasts (rattling nerves & windows!), Buffalo Soldiers on horseback, several Traders (including 2 Traders that came out from Missouri & Wisconsin) selling circa merchandise and 2 Bands made for a well-rounded journey into Western American History. It can be safely said that hundreds of people came out each day for a very enjoyable time in Camp. Click "Rondezvous Pix's" on the Navigation Bar to see photos of FRRØ8. Thank You!!
A HUGE THANK YOU!!! goes out the the Colorado State Parks Rangers at Chatfield Resevior for all their arranging and logistical support of the Slocum Cabin Days 2008 held this last weekend. The Rocky Mountain Living History Society along with some non-members showed up Father's Day weekend to demonstrate the crafts & way of life of the Mountain Men during the Fur Trade Era. Even with the 90+ degree temps, the Park Rangers estimated well over 200 in-Park campers came over to the Slocum Cabin site to see & participate in the doins'.
NEW PAGE ! ! Some 'Skinners have expressed an interest in sharing their knowledge. The TIMES PAST Page is where one can do just that. The subject can be whatever you wish to share. There are a couple "ground rules," just take a look at the top of the Page. Depending on how many articles are submitted (over time) I see no reason why articles could not have at least a week's worth of exposure.
UPDATE: The Rocky Mountain College Rendezvous 2008 Page is now updated with the latest & greatest info. Click on "RMCR 2008" on the Navigation Bar.
NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS! I’ll be building some new pages that will feature the clothing craftings & services of Dollmaker & Irish Lace. This new Web Venture will start off with circa 1800’s doll clothing & accessories along with custom Kids (boys & girls) and Adult (men & women) clothing. Click on "Lace-1" on the Navigation Bar to see what "Irish Lace" & "Dollmaker" are doing. More details & pictures now appear on "Lace-2" & "Lace-3."
The War Eagles Society, are Buckskinners who served or are presently serving in our Nation’s Armed Forces. Please check out http://www.war-eagles.com/ for more info. (I was informed by Skip Stansbury - Colorado District Rep for the War Eagle Society, that as of
For now, take a look at the Rendezvous Events, Etc. page. Since E-Mails do "have a habit of being deleted," (oops!) having the E-Mailed version posted here as well, will enable people to see & read the latest, stored in a semi-permanent location. I'll be up-dating what's here at the same time I make the mass-posting so's we're all "on the same page." Also, if there are any changes of Events (like RMNR 2007 in MT fer example), I’ll post the changes here on the Site first (a lot quicker to get-word out to all), then carry the up-dates over to the next mass E-Mail posting.
Finally, I must ask a major favor (or 2): 1st, Some of y'all have been so kind to send me flyers so's I have ALL the pertinent info. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Please also include a link to the Flyer (if one is available). That way, viewers of this site wanting more info can get it much quicker. 2nd, please, for those who maintain Web Sites, I'd much appreciate a link to this Web Site from your Site. I'll do the same in return, make sure please to send me a valid link to your site.
